Alishan National Scenic Area

Alishan (阿里山) has become one of the major landmarks in Taiwan. It is well-known for the sunrise which can be seen in Chushan (祝山). Alishan Forest Railway offers train services from Alishan Station to Chushan which start operating at pre-dawn. There's a platform right next to the station where visitors can wait for the sunrise.

On the way back to Alishan, one can opt to ride the train back or one can skip the train and walk back for a pleasant downhill hike.

Back to Alishan Station, continue the adventure by taking the paths and trails to witness the picturesque scenery Taiwan has to offer.

Attractions, aside from the sunrise, include the Two Sister's Ponds, Giant Trees Trail, the heart-shaped Love Tree, Three-Generation Tree, Elephant Trunk and Shoujhen Temple among others.

Alishan National Scenic Area (阿里山國家風景區) is located at 51 Checheng, Fanlu Township, Chiayi County, Taiwan. For more information about Alishan, visit their webiste http://www.ali-nsa.net//
