La Union

La Union is a province in the Philippines, located in the northern part of the island of Luzon. It is surrounded by three other provinces namely Ilocos Sur, Benguet and Pangasinan, and by the South China Sea.

First stop of this La Union trip is the Our Lady of Charity (Nuestra Senora de Caridad) Church in the municipality of Agoo.

Next stop is the San Juan Beach. Some considered it as the best surfing site in La Union. There are rentals for surfing boards and surfing lessons are offered as well for the beginners. Unfortunately the tide was low and there were no big waves when we visited so we didn't try it. Be sure to check the tide and the waves on surf reports and forecasts when planning to go here.

Last stop for this trip is the Anito Falls/Balay Anito Falls which is a one-hour trek from the mountains in the municipality of Santol.
